我生活于南京，它是一座旧都。百年以来南京历经政治沧桑变幻。南京的道路两旁大量种植着法国梧桐。民间流传是当年的民国总统蒋介石为了表达对夫人宋美龄的爱，他将民国首都南京的街道种满了梧桐树。这无疑是浪漫的。可这只是一种说法。根据历史考察，大量种植法国梧桐始于1917年。于是，这些漂洋过海的植物陪伴了南京人走过了整整百年。南京人习惯了梧桐树的枝繁叶茂与生长。梧桐树似乎与南京共生，也成了南京的城市名片。

 

可是2011年，南京市政府为了修建地铁大举砍伐这些百年的梧桐树，将它们推倒或者折断。在很多地方被折断的梧桐树依旧艰难的生存着。在社交媒体（微博），市民开始呼吁保护梧桐树。直至今日，梧桐树仍然未能受到有效保护。城市依然在快速发展中。

This is undoubtedly romantic. But this is just a saying. According to historical investigations, the cultivation of French paulownia began in 1917. The phoenix tree seems to be symbiotic with Nanjing and has become the city card of Nanjing.

 

However, in 2011, the Nanjing Municipal Government cut down or broke these centuries-old plane trees in order to build a subway. The sycamore trees that have been broken in many places are still struggling to survive. On social media (microblogging), citizens began to call for the protection of phoenix trees. To this day, the phoenix tree is still not effectively protected. The city is still developing rapidly.
